Secret life of Plants
1946 Explains through animation the process of photosynthesis. Discusses its importance to our daily lives.
Subject: Russian Cinematography is alive! This is quite an interesting class science film, made with many types of animation and exploring many subjects probably so students at the time wouldn't get bored. We start with a very colorful and contrasty tableau of green plants which bring to mind many early Russian color films (which I'm sure the producers were trying to achieve). Then it delves into a somewhat boring science gobblydook of science for a while, but do not worry, as it starts to get interesting again with it's stop motion animation and then a brief exploration of dinosaurs. All in all, a somewhat interesting piece.
